An American Classic! Old stock Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper from California, and a fine specimen at that! Cut from material dug in the 70's, this is an outstanding cabochon, expertly cut and polished. You won't find many pieces of Morgan Hill as sweet as this one on the market today. Nearly fracture free, the few that are there are healed, deep saturated rich colors and exquisite patterning. Nicely detailed poppies on a gorgeous dark burnt orange & deep golden mustard ground. An outstanding specimen, a collectors piece really considering the scarcity of good cutting material available today.
Hand set in a fine silver bezel on a linen textured sterling silver back plate it floats from a hidden tube bail on a thick soft cornered rounded box link chain that closes with a hand forged hook clasp. Crafted entirely of solid sterling and fine silver that has been deeply oxidized and hand polished to a buttery soft satin finish. Stamped .925 on the back. All fabrication & metalwork done in studio by me.
A gorgeous one of a kind slice of American history!
