An amazing contrast between the crisply faceted, luscious, sparkling hot pink ruby (lab created) and the organic grungy-ness of the distressed, darkened sterling silver tags! The rubies are set in solid sterling silver bezels on hand cold forged, distressed and oxidized sterling tabs. The rubies are set upside down! Faceted gemstones like this are meant to be tube set, for something a bit different I set them in sterling bezels, pointy side up! A funky, very petite pair! The earrings are 1" top to bottom, the rubies are 4mm.
All metalwork done in studio by hand, by me. Crafted in solid sterling silver that has been distressed, oxidized and hand polished to a soft satin finish.
*The lab rubies I use are created using the verneuil method. They are lab grown corundum, not synthetic, not glass. They are chemically, physically & optically the same composition as genuine ruby gems, it requires strong magnification in order to distinguish between the two.
